Introducing the Carbon Footprint Library.
The Carbon Reduction Commitment is already here but as yet, no one has really started to feel it’s bite. Most will know that any companies using over half a million pounds worth of electricity per annum will have to measure and report on their annual carbon emissions during 2011, but not everyone appreciates the impact that this may have when those companies have to purchase allowances based on their reported position.
The Carbon Footprint Library or CFL service has been designed to offer a simple but accurate base line position that can be subsequently developed to illustrate savings that can be made by using more efficient hardware and managing software application installs. In some cases a companies I.T. department carbon footprint can be reduced by over 50% just by implementing the recommendations made by using BCS Ltd's Carbon Footprint Library.
