Reporting on commercially licensable software is enhanced whilst non-licensable software applications can also be set to ignore or report, thus enhancing an organisation’s control functions. Finally, and perhaps just as importantly, IT security is supported by USL’s ability to locate hazardous software ready for ring-fencing or removal. Today, BCS processes audit data from in excess of a quarter of a million devices per month through the USL portal. This equates to twenty-five million distinct lines of software audit data each month!
